2000 Honda CR125 Restoration
FMF/Honda Race Team Tribute
The bike we wanted at 16, but missed it by a year.Â
The actual FMF/Honda Racing CR125s from this year were my favorite of that team's bikes over the teams 3 year run at the professional level. In 2000, we were not racing due to a string of injuries the previous two years. In 2001, we were ready to get back behind the gate. Being a Honda kid my whole life made the CR125 feel right at home, even if it was down on power. Â
To say this bike was a passion project is an understatement. This restoration took almost three years and tired every ounce of patience we had. From cracks in the engine cases, to a stripped out drain bolt, electrical gremlins, and a cylinder than had more problems than you could count. Every ounce of blood & sweat was fully worth it.Â
