1972 CZ 380 RestorationÂ
The 1972 CZ 380 was one of the defining European motocross machines of its era, known for rugged construction, strong low‑end power, and the hand‑fitted engine craftsmanship that gave each motor a distinct feel. CZ was still a major force in GP racing at the time, and the 380’s broad, usable powerband made it a favorite on rough natural terrain where control mattered more than peak output.
Its steel chassis delivered excellent traction and predictable handling, and although heavier than emerging Japanese competitors, the bike compensated with stability and a motor that pulled hard without being overly explosive. Today, the 1972 CZ 380 is remembered as a tough, character‑rich workhorse—an iconic example of Czech engineering that remains highly respected among vintage racers and restorers.
